Russia’s domestic pollock prices keep sliding as a shortage in cold storage space and the closure of the Chinese market lead to a glut of supply, forcing the sector to sell off product at far lower rates.

Wholesale prices in Vladivostok slipped 4.1 percent to RUB 70 (€0.80/$0.95) per kilogram on Aug. 9 compared to the previous week, and remained at around the same level for the next week, according to the country’s fishery agency, Rosrybolovstvo.

Russian industry watchers expect prices to continue spiraling in the coming weeks and months.
