Norwegian farmed salmon prices are firming slightly headed into next week, with fresh COVID lockdowns leading purchasers to buy cautiously to avoid having any holdover product.
Prices were already showing a moderate decline last week as the new omicron variant caused buyers to hold back on purchases, and this week exporters are reporting challenges not just with demand but with supply as well.
One exporter told IntraFish Friday afternoon that while prices were looking slightly better than in the morning, "most people are buying exactly what they need so that they are not left with any holdover."
