Prices for Atlantic salmon coming out of Norway are dropping further Friday and into the new week, with the largest sizes taking the biggest hits.
Industry watchers told IntraFish the upcoming Chinese New Year partly explains the fall, coupled with European buyers' resistance to pay the high prices.
Demand by European processors has been slow, one exporter told IntraFish.
Prices could have fallen even further, however, due to the relatively small harvest volumes they remain relatively high, he said.
