Norwegian salmon prices are falling sharply heading into next week as demand slows, leaving large volumes of unsold fish.

An exporter reported prices of NOK 52 (€5.40/$6.10) to NOK 55 (€5.70/$6.40) per kilo.

“There is a complete stop in sales, there is so much fish left,” an exporter said.

“The situation is awful, the market is very weak and prices are very low. I was very optimistic about July, but the market is crazy. There have been big fluctuations for a long time now,” he said, adding that customers are “furious.”
