Norwegian salmon prices are falling further after falling around NOK 15 (€1.50/$1.70) per kilo last week as the market works to absorb excess small-sized fish.

“I have no idea where the price will end, everyone is just waiting,” one Norwegian salmon exporter told IntraFish on Friday.

The exporter expects fairly stable prices for the largest fish, but a price fall for fish below 4 kg, which are plentiful on the market.

Shortage of larger sizes

Many people said there is a lot of small fish in the market, in large part because farmers hoped to take advantage of high pre-Easter prices.
