Spot prices for farmed Norwegian salmon have been increasing since week 44 for fish sizes 3-6 kilograms, according to latest Fish Pool Index figures.

Prices inched up by 2 percent to NOK 62.36 (€6.13/$6.81) in week 48, after jumping up 8 and 12 percent in week 47 and 46, respectively.

Salmon volumes increased by just 1 percent to reach 21,783 metric tons compared to the previous week.

Fish Pool anticipates prices to drop through the end of the year.
