Farmed salmon prices in Norway have risen sharply over the past week, maintaining the momentum they built up in recent days as supply remains tight.

Last Friday, industry sources reported salmon prices rising above NOK 50 (€4.80/$5.81) per kilogram, and this week, the trend continued, as average salmon prices move into the NOK 60 (€5.75/$6.98) range, according to several market sources.

"They have risen steadily throughout the week -- and prices have only gotten better and better," said one farmer in northern Norway.
