Norwegian salmon prices for the main sizes remain near the record levels seen last week, but buyers are beginning to push back against the escalating increases.

Prices for the largest fish reached more than NOK100 (€9.84/$11.17) last week on reduced availability because higher volumes of winter sores on fish continued to take a toll on product quality and supply.

The sores impact the fish quality, which in severe cases can result in the fish being downgraded to what's known as a "production fish."
