Norwegian salmon prices have risen sharply after falling back last week, although with the civil unrest situation in Chile appearing to be calming, industry sources are unsure how long the price hike will last.
IntraFish contacted three exporters and two producers, all of whom report about the same prices.
Prices are up NOK 10 ($1/€0.99) a kilogram from last week, one industry source said.
"There is nothing to indicate such a movement, but that is where the market is. We are very cautious and have only bought a little for delivery at the start of next week."
