Strong demand and transport bottlenecks have combined to lift salmon prices after weeks of lower numbers in the market.

Transport is an issue both from farming and processing sites as well as from Oslo to export markets, one producer told IntraFish.

The shortfall comes after the Norwegian Seafood Council reported a weekly record for exports with over 31,00 metric tons of salmon exported.

Some salmon firms are spending more time arranging transport than selling salmon, sourced said.
