Norwegian salmon prices are slipping once again headed into next week amid expected higher volumes, unsold inventory, and some producers planning to process during Monday's public holiday, market watchers said.

One exporter told IntraFish Friday prices will go down "sharply" by NOK 5-10 (€0.49-0.98/$0.60-1.20), but "the question is how big it will be."

"There are large gaps in prices, and prices often end up between what the farmer and the exporters want," an exporter told IntraFish.

Prices began to fall earlier in the week, he said, after a lengthy period of rises.
