Norwegian farmed salmon prices edged higher amid reduced volumes and continued transportation issues facing the sector.

"We are experiencing a small price increase of a couple of kroner," an exporter told IntraFish.

A similar message is also being conveyed by producers and and exporters who indicate this may lead to greater numbers of smaller fish in late autumn.

Prices have risen steadily throughout the week, the exporter said.

"There have been a number of fluctuations in the kroner, and that is what is driving the price down a bit now."
