The average price of Norwegian farmed salmon increased by 5.5 percent to NOK 49.83 (€4.90/$5.40) per kilo in week 45, compared to the same time last week, according to the latest Nasdaq figures.

Prices also increased 9 percent compared to a month ago, but remained relatively flat compared to three months ago.

Prices increased across all the major weight categories.

Fish in the 3 to 4 kilo weight class, with a 36 percent market share, saw prices increase NOK 2.48 (€0.25/$0.27) to NOK 48.23 (€4.80/$5.30) per kilo compared to the week prior.

Prices of salmon in the 4 to 5 kilo size, the second most popular category, went up NOK 2.56 (€0.25/$0.28) to NOK 50.91 (€5.10/$5.60) per kilo in comparison to last week.
