Norwegian farmed salmon prices rose again this week by 2.3 percent compared to last week.
Fresh Norwegian salmon, head-on gutted, sold for NOK 61.87 (€6.07/$6.73) per kilo on average in week 48, according to the latest Nasdaq figures. Compared to a month and three months ago, the current price is 31 percent and 34 percent higher, respectively.
Prices increased across all the major weight categories. Fish in the 3 to 4 kilo weight class had a 33 percent market share. As for those in the 4 to 5 and 5 to 6 kilo weight classes, their market shares were 35 and 18 percent, respectively.
