Maine lobster tail prices strong heading into the holidays

Maine is seeing strong demand for lobster tails heading into the holidays, and consumers are willing to pay higher prices.

John Norton, founder and president of Maine-based Cozy Harbor Seafood, told IntraFish between October of last year and this year the price of lobster tails is up 25 percent.

Lobster industry sources told IntraFish spot market prices for 4-5 ounce tails are around $4 (€3.53) more per pound compared to last year when they sold for around $15 (€13.30) per pound.
