Prices for Norwegian cod are already on the rise following the news June 15 that the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) is recommending a 20 percent cut in both Barents Sea cod and haddock quotas for 2022.

Norwegian headed and gutted (H&G) frozen-at-sea (FAS) cod prices are up 16 percent from May, according to the Norwegian Fishermen’s Sales Organization (Norges Rafisklag), almost at pre-COVID levels of nearly NOK 40 (€3.90/$4.70) per kilo.
