After a wave of declines, Norwegian farmed salmon spot prices are starting to rise because farmers are harvesting fewer fish, several sources told IntraFish.

"The price is going up a bit after a long period of decline," an exporter told IntraFish. "Several factories are closing next week in both northern Norway and central Norway."

Salmon producer Nordlaks, for example, announced this week it is temporarily laying off around 100 employees due to season low-activity.

Norwegian exporters are offering one farmer NOK 0.15
