Trapanada Seafarms, the US sales arm of Chilean salmon company Australis, saw weak prices in the first half of the year due to a higher supply of salmon, Managing Director Rick Cano told IntraFish.

However, the ongoing algal bloom in Norway and a lower expectation of supply from Chile brought about by some minor algal blooms, and generally worse results in harvest sizes due to the high temperatures in the summer, are expected to push up prices in the second half of the year, he said.
