Already surging Norwegian cod prices could "easily" reach NOK 70 (€6.90/$7.40) a kilo this year due to a number of market factors, Finn Arne Egeness, senior whitefish analyst at Nordea Markets, told IntraFish sister publication Fiskeribladet.

Speaking during the Norwegian Seafood Council’s Frozen At Sea (FAS) conference in Alesund on Wednesday, Egeness predicted Norwegian headed and gutted (H&G) prices would soon reach more than NOK 60 (€5.90/$6.30) per kilo and that this could easily climb further.

The prices, which are now at more than NOK 55 (€5.40/$5.80)
