After US President Donald Trump declared a travel ban on flights to the United States from much of Europe, the Department of Homeland Security issued a statement clarifying that people will be banned from entry, but that goods and cargo will not be included.

However, the ban still puts salmon in a tricky spot, and analysts told IntraFish it spells bad news for the industry across the board.

"They say that goods are not banned, but at the same time a lot of salmon exports to the US are done with passenger airlines," Knut Ivar Bakken from Danske Bank Markets said.
