Nippon Suisan Kaisha, one of the world's largest seafood traders, is revising its shipping prices for surimi and frozen food products as logistics, raw material and labor costs get too high to be absorbed.

Costs will be increased between 1 and 13 percent as of Feb. 1 2022 for a huge range of Nissui products, including 50 surimi retail lines, 63 frozen food retail lines and 179 commercial frozen food items.

"Soaring raw material prices due to growing food demand around the world, rising labor costs at home and abroad, and rising fuel and packaging materials and logistics costs due to soaring crude oil prices are now inevitable," said Nissui in a statement.
