Iain Lochhead, the former UK operations director for Bacardi, has been appointed CEO of Horizon Proteins, a company creating proteins from whisky distilling residue for aquaculture and animal feed.
Every year, the malt whisky industry in Scotland alone produces around three billion liters of pot ale, the residue of fermented wort left in a still after the distillation of whisky or alcohol and used for animal feed.
