Seattle-based Trident Seafoods has turned to the candy aisle to head up its commercial strategy, naming Julia Isdale to the role of chief commercial officer.

Isdale spent five years with the Hershey's group as chief innovation officer for the marketing team. During that time, the executive spearheaded growth at the division, in particular at the company's health and wellness brands, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Prior to that, Isdale spent eight years with beverage giant Carslberg in Denmark, also as chief innovation officer in the marketing group. She served with food giant Mondelez prior to that, based in the group's Moscow office, and held a similar role at Coca-Cola prior to that, also in Russia.

Trident Seafoods CEO Joe Bundrant told IntraFish that Isdale "will bring real value to our global strategy that will continue to bring value to all stakeholders in the wild Alaska fisheries."

In September, Trident announced three longtime senior executives would leave the group as part of a restructuring of the management team: Vic Scheibert, president of Alaska Operations; Allen Kimball, executive vice president of Global Operations and Sales; and Jeff Thompson, president of Trident's Domestic Sales and Operations will all depart the group.
