Four fish farmers made it on to Norwegian magazine Kapital's much-read rich list this year, with SalMar's Gustav Witzoe listed as the richest of the four.

The industry veteran was listed as having a fortune of NOK 45.6 billion (€27.1 billion/$31.7 billion) up NOK 12.1 billion (€7.1 million/$8.4 million) from last year.

The next farmer on the list is Gerhard Meidell Alsaker, who just celebrated the launch of his new well boat in Bergen. Meidel is listed as having a fortune of NOK 10.4 billion (€6.2 billion/$7.2 billion), up NOK 3.6 billion (€2.1 billion/$2.5 billion) from last year.

At no. 59 sits NTS's Helge Gaso with NOK 5.5 billion (€3.2 billion/$3.8 billion) in assets, up 1.75 billion (€1 billion/$1.2 billion) on last year.

The last salmon farmer on the hot 100 list is Ola Braanaas, the man behind Firda Seafood. According to Kapital, his fortune is NOK 3.6 billion billion (€2.1 billion/$2.5 billion), which is up half a billion (€297.1 million/$348.1 million) from last year.
