Boston-based Stavis Seafoods hired 25-year food and seafood sales veteran Jeff Robertson as national accounts manager, in charge of growing the company's customer base in both retail and foodservice segments.

Prior to joining Stavis Seafoods, Robertson held several key positions with Morey's Seafood, Blue Sea Products and Seafood America.

The 90-year-old seafood company recently promoted David Lancaster to company president.

Lancaster will have to draw on all of his 30 years of experience in seafood to steer the historic fish and shellfish supplier into its next era.

Lancaster is no stranger to Stavis: he worked as sales manager for the company from 2003 to 2006. His return to Stavis as vice president of sales in 2019 followed the company’s sale to the Profand Group in 2018, an international seafood company with fishing, processing and sales operations in Europe, South America, and Africa.

The takeover by Profand culminated in January 2021 with the departure of Richard Stavis, a third-generation member of the Stavis clan, which founded the company in 1929.

Stavis Seafoods has three facilities in and around the Boston area. The Stavis Fresh Center is located on the Boston waterfront, serving as the main processing facility for all the company's fresh fish out of Boston. Its corporate headquarters are located just down the road on Boston’s Fish Pier. The company also operates a 40,000 square foot warehouse located in Peabody, Massachusetts, which serves as the primary home for its frozen seafood products.
