Seattle Fish Co. President and CEO Derek Figueroa has become the new chair of the National Fisheries Institute (NFI).
Figueroa heads the Denver-based seafood distributor, which has been in business for more than a century.
NFI's Virtual Global Seafood Market Conference runs from Feb. 1-5, with two-hour sessions each day.
Figueroa is aiming to lend experience gained in doing virtual business with customers to the online event.
