Paal Tangvik, head of freshwater farming at Scottish Sea Farms, is bowing out from his position after successfully delivering the company's first full generation of recirculating aquaculture system (RAS)-grown smolt.

Tangvik joined the company in 2014 from Oslo-listed Leroy Seafood, which co-owns Scottish Sea Farms with SalMar.

The Norwegian fish farmer was tasked with mending Scottish Sea Farms' freshwater production strategy, which included building a RAS hatchery at Barcaldine.
