Scottish salmon farmer Loch Duart added a US operation to its existing French and UK sales offices, and has appointed a new executive to spearhead the drive.

Jim Scoon was named the vice president of sales for the new US office, based virtually in Boston.

Prior to joining Loch Duart, Scoon was sales manager with Black Pearl Seafood, one of the largest importers of Scottish salmon into the United States.

Loch Duart acquired a fish processing facility previously owned by Thai-Union backed The Edinburgh Salmon Company in Dingwall on the Black Isle in June 2020.

Loch Duart currently produces 6,000 metric tons of salmon each year from its farms in Sutherland and the Outer Hebrides and employs 140 people.
