Alison Hutchins has been appointed director of innovations at sustainable standards body, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).

Based in Scotland, Hutchins joins the ASC after serving as farming director at trout producer Dawnfresh Farming, a position she held for more than four years.

Previous to that she was technical and compliance manager at Dawnfresh Seafoods for almost nine years.

Hutchins also served as environmental development manager at The Scottish Salmon Company as well as other environment protection roles at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and Marine Harvest Scotland, now Mowi.

In November, Sainsbury’s Aquaculture and Fisheries Manager Ally Dingwall left the UK retailer to join the ASC as its new senior director of technical operations.

In October, ASC also hired former Aldi buyer Lorraine Gallagher as market development manager for Ireland and the UK.

And in August, it appointed former Mondelez executive Willem de Bruijn as its new senior director of markets and communications.
