Norwegian salmon sales and marketing consortium Salmon Group on Tuesday announced Jan Olav Langeland would take over as CEO of the group.
Langeland, a former executive with Ewos and Kavli, among other groups, said he plans to prioritize creating a framework to allow for small-scale salmon farmers who make up Salmon Group to continue to thrive.
"We need this kind of business in Norway: solid producers of quality food that provide forward-looking jobs in rural areas," Langeland said.
Langeland takes over from Anne-Kristine Oen, who was named the Norwegian Seafood Council envoy to the United States in February.
