Grieg Seafood has appointed Ken Taylor as managing director of its North American sales division.

With over 35 years of sales and market experience in the seafood industry, Taylor will lead the development and execution of Grieg Seafood’s downstream strategy in the North American market.

Taylor was previously vice president of purchasing, sales and logistics at US seafood giant Peter Pan Seafood. He also has 24 years of experience with Mowi, where he developed and managed the raw material and trade sales operations for North America.

Taylor will start his new job mid-March.

“I have enjoyed working with the dedicated professionals at Peter Pan over the last year, but could not let the opportunity of developing Grieg Seafood’s presence in the North American market go," said Taylor.

Grieg Seafood’s sales division in North America is based in Vancouver, Canada, and employs 18 people.

In North America, Grieg Seafood has salmon farms in British Columbia on the west coast of Canada and is currently building up a new farming region in Newfoundland on the east coast. The company also has farming operations in the north and south of Norway, and a sales division based in Bergen.

Globally, Grieg Seafood is targeting 90,000 metric tons of salmon harvests in 2022.
