Land-based salmon farmer Salmon Evolution is appointing Odd Frode Roaldsnes as its new Head of Asia.

Roaldsnes will focus on the joint venture with Dongwon Industries -- K Smart Farming -- and in exploring Salmon Evolution’s footprint in the Asian markets.

Roaldsnes joins Salmon Evolution from the seafood company Ocean Supreme, based in Alesund, Norway, and brings extensive experience from the salmon industry.

He is expected to join the Salmon Evolution team during the third quarter of 2021.

Salmon Evolution's first production facility is under construction at Indre Haroy, located on the Norwegian west coast, with the entire project designed for an annual capacity of approximately 31,500 metric tons.

The company has also entered into a joint venture with Dongwon Industries where the parties will develop, construct and operate a land-based salmon farming facility in South Korea under the name K Smart Farming, with an annual production capacity of 16,800 metric tons.

On Monday, Salmon Evolution cancelled a planned second public offering as its share price suffered an extended period of low-value trading.
