Arild Aarvik has joined recruitment firm Seafood People as an executive advisor.

Aarvik was the founder of longline fishing company Carisma Fish that in 2018 merged with Ervik Havfisk. Aarvik is also currently deputy chairman of The Norwegian Fishermen's Association, where he focuses on negotiating quotas internationally on behalf of Norwegian members and is chairman of investment firm SeaGrow and co-owner and board member of Seafood People.

“As Seafood People expands its portfolio of business consulting services to its international client base, Mr. Aarvik will bring his acuity of the white fish industry, entrepreneurial competency, political and strategic expertise, negotiation skills and importantly, his vast industry relationships to the firm," said Seafood People Managing Director Thomas Bakke. "He is a welcomed addition to our growing company."

“I am excited to share my decades of expertise to help our clients on their growth trajectory. Making a positive and lasting impact in the industry is not only Seafood People’s mission but my professional mission. In addition to my new role, I will continue to be an active investor in the seafood industry’s value chain,” said Aarvik.

The firm has advisors located in Chile, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Singapore and New Zealand.
