Ole-Alexander Palm, PwC partner and head of seafood for the company, is joining Norwegian-based recruitment company Seafood People to launch a new global management consultancy division, a source familiar with the situation told IntraFish.

Palm will partner with Seafood People beginning in January.

Before PwC, Palm served as COO for salmon producer Bolaks and worked for Capgemini Consulting among other roles. He holds a master's degree in finance from the Norwegian School of Economics.

Managing Partner Thomas Bakke said Palm's appointment marked "the next chapter of strategic growth" for the agency, allowing it to expand well beyond recruiting and deeper into the consultancy sphere.

"By utilizing our unique global executive network, recruitment services and now adding these capabilities, we will partner with companies to create innovative initiatives and handle new projects,” Bakke said.

“We’ve embarked on the journey to be the one-stop-shop for the critical competencies needed by the seafood industry. We're redefining the consulting approach and looking for great talent to join us on this adventure."

Launched in 2015, Seafood People now employs five full-time staff in in Norway, one in the United States and is working with a team of four consultants.

Following Palm's appointment, the group will be expanding with an additional three to four full-time staff.
