David Lancaster is stepping down as CEO of Boston-based seafood distributor Stavis Seafoods, the company announced Tuesday.

Soren Dalsager, who became CEO of Profand USA in January this year, will expand his current role to assume leadership of Stavis. Prior to this, he was CEO of Royal Greenland USA for two years.

"This mutually agreed upon change in leadership comes as the company embraces an exciting future," Stavis Seafoods said in a statement.

In June, the company announced it was moving to a new facility at 1 Seafood Way in the Boston Seaport area originally owned by US restaurant chain Legal Sea Foods and housed its headquarters, test kitchens and quality-assurance center.
