Southfield Capital, a US private equity firm, has hired former Trident executive Robert Root as operating partner.

In his new role, Root will spearhead the firm's value creation efforts, driving strategic initiatives to enhance portfolio company performance and growth.

The firm targets companies with $4-15 million (€3.7-€13.9 million) in EBITDA and partners with management to scale the business through a combination of organic and acquisition growth strategies.

Root previously served as Trident's vice president of transformation and also as a senior director for Microsoft and worked in finance leadership positions at Procter & Gamble.
