Norwegian millionaire Per Grieg Jr., part of the family controlling salmon farming giant Grieg Seafood, will resign as chairman of the board of land-based salmon farmer Proximar Seafood in the company's upcoming general meeting on June 4.

Grieg will, however, continue on the board, according to the notice convening the general meeting of the company.

Fridtjof Falck has also been proposed as a new board member. According to LinkedIn, he is a ship broker at RS Platou in Oslo.

Thomas Grieg, the son of Per Grieg, will leave the board, as will Helge Nielsen who has worked in various management positions in the Grieg Group for the past 25 years.

The new board of Proximar Seafood, if adopted in accordance with the recommendation, will be Katrine Trovik as chairman of the board, Per Grieg Jr., Espen Aubert and Fridjof Falck.

Animal nutrition giant Nutreco, parent of aquaculture feed group Skretting, was among the investors, taking a NOK 35 million (€3.4 million/$4.1 million) stake.

Construction of the phase 1 facility is expected to commence in the first quarter, be completed during the first half of 2023, have its first harvest during the first half of 2024, and have an annual head-on-gutted volume of approximately 5,300 metric tons at full capacity.

In addition to the phase 1 facility, Proximar has expansion plans of approximately 21,100 metric tons HOG in an adjacent land area.
