Private equity-backed salmon oil and feed ingredients producer Scanbio Marine Group hired former Mowi Sales Manager Eivind Saetre as chief sales officer.

After a full decade running sales at the world's largest salmon producer, Saetre began seeking new challenges.

"I want to thank all my friends at Mowi, worldwide, in Norway, Bergen and especially Team Nutrition, which have given me the best 10 years possible," Satre said.

"Now I am really looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life together with Scanbio."

Saetre begins his role in July.

Scanbio, which is owned by Paine Schwartz, former owner of Icicle Seafoods, appointed Kamel El Khaloui as CEO in December 2019.

Scanbio retrieves dead farmed fish, waste and trimmings from Norway's salmon, whitefish and pelagic industries, which it processes mainly for animal feed ingredients, but also for fuel for biogas production and technical products. Salmon oil is its largest single product.

In 2018, the company announced it will most likely be sold or possibly listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. However, ever since then the company fell silent on the sale process.
