Canada-based fisheries and processing group Ocean Choice International is expanding its sales team in the US with the appointment of Thom Duncan to the new role of director of sales for the United States.

Based in Georgia, Duncan will working alongside Ocean Choice’s existing North American sales team, and report to Chris Curran, VP of sales and marketing for North America, who is based at the group's head office in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

"Over the last several years, we have seen an increase in demand for our wild-caught seafood in North America, at both retail and foodservice,” said Martin Sullivan, CEO of Ocean Choice.

"It makes strategic sense to expand our in-market sales representation in the United States, especially as we grow our retail and shelf-ready capability with the addition of our new distribution and retail packaging facility that is set to launch early next year."

Duncan joins from Cooke's True North Seafood Company, where he held the role of director of sales for the US for almost five years.

Ocean Choice is a vertically integrated harvesting, processing, and marketing company with a fleet of five offshore vessels and five processing facilities.

The company sells a diversified range of species including snow crab, flounder, scallops, and a variety of other wild North Atlantic species to a range of customers throughout the United States.
