Harm de Wildt, COO of aquafeed giant Nutreco and CEO of its subsidiary Trouw Nutrition, is retiring from the company after serving for almost two decades.

In addition, Nutreco's Chief Innovation Officer Viggo Halseth will step down from the company's executive committee, effective Aug. 1.

He will continue in his current role, with a focus on development, projects and investments in alternative aquaculture farming such as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).

“As the number of alternative aquaculture farming innovations continues to grow, the time needed to assess potential partners, investments or projects is growing too,” Halseth said.

De Wildt will be replaced by the Trouw Nutrition Innovation Director Saskia Korink, effective Aug. 15.

De Wildt will leave the company at the end of 2020, supporting Korink's transition into the role and leading a number of key projects.

Korink joined Nutreco less than two years ago and has already been pivotal in bringing R&D and marketing closer together.

Prior to joining Nutreco, Korink worked at Cargill for over a decade in a number of roles, namely as global marketing director for the company's animal nutrition business.

Korink’s successor will be announced in due course.
