Norwegian salmon farmer Masoval on Monday announced it named a new CEO.

Helge Kvalvik was previously CEO at Norwegian shipowner Boa Offshore. Boa runs 26 vessels focused on subsea, barge, towage, anchor-handling, engineering and project management work.

Family-owned group Masoval, formerly Masoval Fiskeoppdrett, first began farming nearly 50 years ago, and remains family owned and is headed up by Chairman Lars Masoval -- the son of founder Karsten Masoval.

The Froya, Norway-based group listed on the Euronext Growth earlier this year, giving it more ready access to capital and the opportunity to continue a growth strategy it launched last year.
