Roger Mosand, managing director of Norwegian salmon producer Nordlak's value-added division Nordlaks Produkter*, will take over as chairman of the board of land-based salmon farming startup Andfjord Salmon, the company announced on the Euronext Growth market Thursday.

Andfjord said the nomination would be put forward to share holders for a vote on March 19.

Current Chairman and Founder Roy Bernt Pettersen announced earlier that he would step down from his role when a replacement was found.

Mosand has been with Nordlaks, one of Norway's largest privately held salmon farmers, since 2001.

A spokesperson for Nordlaks told IntraFish Mosand's new role is separate from Nordlaks as a group, and that there is no investment or strategic agreement associated with the appointment.

Andfjord Salmon is planning a land-based salmon farming operation in Andoya, Norway. The company is licensed to produce 12,600 metric tons of head-on gutted Atlantic salmon, and has plans to expand to an additional 77,400 metric tons of capacity.

Andfjord listed on Oslo's OTC market in 2019.
