Mowi Scotland announced Friday it has hired Meritxell Diez-Padrisa as its production director, starting in February. Diez-Padrisa replaces outgoing director Gideon Pringle.

Diez-Padrisa has been employed with the company since 2011 and has worked as Mowi's head of fish health since 2017. She also served previously as the head of fish health for Grupo Culmarex.

The position reports to Ben Hadfield, COO of Mowi's farming in Scotland and Ireland.

The hire is part of Mowi's changes to its organizational structure and its group management team in order to increase focus on the company's farming entities, the company said.

Diez-Padrisa holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Licenciado en Veterinaria) from the University of Barcelona, and Master's in Aquatic Veterinary Studies from the University of Stirling.
