Mowi Canada East has appointed an interim managing director for its operations in Atlantic Canada. Alan Cook, who was appointed to the role in 2020, announced on LinkedIn Friday he has moved on from the role.

Kristina White, current Mowi Canada East human resources manager, has agreed to take over for Cook on an interim basis, according to the company. Mowi has immediately begun the process of securing a new managing director, it said Friday.

Cook said in his departure post "it was an incredible experience over the past couple of years and a period of intense personal development and growth."

The outgoing Mowi director brought more than 20 years of experience to the role, having taken on leadership positions within the salmon farming and fisheries industries in Canada, Chile, the United States and most recently New Zealand, where he acted as COO of New Zealand King Salmon before joining Mowi.

"I’m going to take a break and then start thinking about next steps. This will be my first summer off in 30 years!" he wrote in his LinkedIn post.
