Polish salmon and whitefish processor Milarex, which is now 100 percent owned by Swedish private equity fund Summa Equity, witnessed a “significant growth in sales,” in the first half of 2020, in spite of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and this trend continued through the latter half of the year as well.

But CEO Thomas Farstad remains humble, and says what the COVID-19 pandemic has taught him is to anticipate the worst, but hope for the best.

As the company prepares to adjust its sales mix further, he said it will continue with the same approach for 2021, "we are hoping for the best, but are prepared that the pandemic situation will last all of 2021," he tells IntraFish as he looks back on 2020 and forward to what next year could bring.
