Land-based salmon producer Atlantic Sapphire announced Monday it named a new chief operating officer.
Jon-Birger Lovik has worked on a temporary basis since April last year as Atlantic Sapphire's director of aqua technology and deputy COO at the Bluehouse site in Miami.
Lovik has a background in salmon biology, in addition to experience running large and complex RAS systems.
CEO Johan Andreassen welcomed the appointment by highlighting Lovik's work on traditional netpen farming, hatcheries and smolt facilities in Norway, and time spent as the company's CEO in Denmark from 2015 to 2018.
