Israel-based aquaculture equipment supplier AquaMaof named Lior Gal to take charge of sales in North America, as the company grows its presence in the market.

As AquaMaof's director of sales for North America, Gal will be responsible for pre- and post-sale support for customers and projects in the region.

Land-based interest in North America has grown exponentially in recent years as more producers work on ways to produce salmon closer to market.

Gal was previously the international trade manager at fresh produce exporter Galilee Export.

Early this year, AquaMaof was commissioned by 8F Asset Management to supply the recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) technology for its 20,000 metric ton land-based facility in the east coast.

The project is one of the nine projects the company is developing in different regions with a total expected capacity of 61,000 metric tons.
