Colorado-based salmon smoker Honey Smoked Fish Co. has hired the former operations director of salmon supplier Hofseth North America as its new vice president of business development.

John Horn, who worked for Hofseth from 2016 until this year, will take on the new role. Prior to Hofseth, Horn was a national sales rep for the US-based Mazzetta Company.

In early 2019, Honey Smoked Fish acquired the US operations of The MacKnight Food Group.

The company reported gross revenue of $57 million (€48.5 million) and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $5.4 million (€4.6 million).

Revenue, however, fell to $40.5 million (€34.5 million) in 2020, which the company said was related to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

McCarthy Capital-owned Honey Smoked Fish in August appointed Integris Partners as its financial advisor for the sale of the smoked salmon company, according to a prospectus seen by IntraFish.

The company has not released any further details on the potential sale.
