Norwegian biotechnology company Hofseth BioCare (HBC) appointed Reto Renggli as vice president within the consumer health division, effective Feb. 1, as the company continues to ramp up sales and international growth.

Prior to HBC, Renggli was head of sales and marketing for health ingredients at Swiss-based life sciences business Lonza, responsible for key commercial relationships with multinationals such as Nestle and Danone.

In December, HBC inked a long-term collaboration with New York-based brand innovation and marketing consultancy company Tenet Partners to build a consumer brand for its line of salmon-based products.

HBC also signed an exclusive distribution deal with Swiss group DKSH, also known as DiethelmKellerSiberHegner, to sell its marine branded products across Asia.

The pan-Asian agreement covers 10 territories across Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and India.

The company inked an additional agreement with specialty ingredients distributor IMCD for 16 more continues incorporating South America, Australasia, Turkey, the United States and Canada.

Renggli joins former GSK and Novartis senior executive Andy Gill, who also started his position as VP within the consumer health division to accelerate the commercialization of 5,000 metric tons of commoditized animal feed markets.
