Netherlands-based breeding company Hendrix Genetix named Jolanda van Haarlem as CEO effective Mar. 1, replacing Antoon van den Berg, who bowed out after 16 years with the company.

The change in leadership and governance structure follows the company's 2025 strategic plan. With the shift, the founding shareholders Thijs Hendrix and Van den Berg will remain shareholders in the company but step down from management and executive positions.

Van Haarlem was directing Cargill Animal Nutrition for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia. She also held various senior positions with the firm.

Prior to joining Cargill, she worked with Provimi, EBI Food Safety, Quest International and Friesland Campina in sales and marketing management positions.

Hendrix Genetix is expanding its global shrimp breeding activities into Indonesia with the formation of a new company, PT Kona Bay Indonesia.

Today, the company has shrimp breeding and production activities in Hawaii, Ecuador, and Malaysia.

The aquaculture business unit also runs a trout breeding operation in the United States and salmon breeding operations in Chile and Scotland.
